Teen Community Connections (TCC) Summer Camps 2017

  • This program is run in partnership between CLV and Recreation Integration Victoria (RIV), and is subsidized through funding from Supported Child Development through Island Health - QA.
  • All activities are community-based and promote access, recreation, leisure and FUN! Throughout the week teens are in locations that include: local beaches and parks, recreation centres, local attractions, libraries, events and festivals and more. Activities include: nature walks, hiking, swimming, mini-golf, bowling, kayaking, rock climbing, physical literacy sessions (PISE), arts and craft, cooking, theatre, movies, gardening, programs run by Power To Be and time for leisure.
  • Our goal is to provide a positive and welcoming environment that encourage personal growth, life-skills and social interaction. Applicants can choose 1 to 5 weeks of summer camp, depending on available space.

Who can attend? Teens with developmental disabilities between the ages of 13 - 18 years. Applicants must list with the Supported Child Development Program through QACCH and be eligible to receive services and funding through MCFD-CYSN.

Where do they take place?

There are two location hubs that the program uses for the drop-off (morning) and pick-up (end-of-day): Gordon Head Recreation and Esquimalt Recreation Centres. The rest of the day TCC is out in community involved in activities.
